A Love Story Bound by Fate—And Handcuffs!

An Intense First Meeting

What better way to get to know someone than being handcuffed to them? Sure, it’s a bit extreme, but for Ellie and Philip, it seems to work!

The misunderstanding at the beginning was hilarious. While Ellie desperately tried to free herself, Philip remained completely unbothered—clearly, he wasn’t in a hurry to break the connection!

That said, I do have one technical question… How did they manage to change clothes while handcuffed? One moment, Philip is in a tailored suit, the next, he’s shirtless in just a towel. What kind of magic is this?

Honestly, I wish we had more episodes with them stuck together. The comedic potential was huge, but it felt underused. Given the title, I expected more eventful “seven days.”

Two Sweet Souls

Before diving deeper, let’s talk about the leads:

  • Philip – A wealthy, confident gentleman. He never rushed things with Ellie, always remained supportive and caring, and, of course, was incredibly handsome (do I even need to mention that?). Another “too good to be true” male lead—just how I like them!
  • Ellie – The complete opposite of Philip in terms of luck. She works tirelessly, only to be deceived by her cheating boyfriend and burdened by her gambling-addicted father. And yet, she stays positive. That alone is impressive!

One thing that felt off—Ellie’s sister was mentioned multiple times but never actually appeared. If she had no role in the story, why bring her up? It felt like a missed opportunity to add more depth to Ellie’s background. Even the whole situation with her dad not really being her dad was not completely explored.

Kelsey the Mean Girl Returns!

Kelsey is usually cast as the classic “mean girl,” but the last vertical I saw her in (My Political Nemesis I Can’t Resist, review coming soon) had her playing a nice role. Seeing her back as the resident drama queen was fun—she nails every role anyway!

As for Joanna, she’s our textbook jealous villain—delusional, self-absorbed, and convinced she’s better than everyone. Sweetheart, Philip was never fooled by you. Keep dreaming! 😂

Falling in Love, Slowly but Surely

I appreciated that the romance wasn’t rushed. We all knew Ellie and Philip would end up together, but it felt more natural that they didn’t just throw themselves at each other right away. Given that they were literally chained together, I half expected a faster progression—but no, they took their time. That’s rare in verticals, and I loved it!

A Normal Mother for Once!

Let’s take a moment to applaud Philip’s mom.

Yes, she was a bit controlling and initially misjudged Ellie, but once she realized her mistake, she apologized—immediately! She was briefly fooled by Joanna, but she didn’t drag it out, and more importantly, she never truly tried to hurt Ellie.

No slaps. No elaborate schemes. No over-the-top revenge. Just a flawed but ultimately decent mother. A miracle in romance stories!

A Sweet Love Story

I genuinely enjoyed this story, though I wish they had maximized the potential of the handcuffed situation. While the main plot wasn’t the most original, it was still a delightful, heartwarming watch.
