If you’re a fan of Hana Yori Dango like I am, you’re going to feel right at home with this one! The classic enemies-to-lovers trope is alive and well, with that beloved “poor girl in a rich kids school” dynamic we can’t get enough of. Emma becoming Lucas’s maid? Very Hanadan-coded — and I loved every second of it.

But make no mistake, this series isn’t a copy. While it shares that familiar energy, it has its own charm and unique character development. The story between Emma and Lucas evolves at a satisfying pace. Lucas clearly liked her from the start, but watching the super popular guy struggle to confess his feelings to the one girl who doesn’t care about his status? That was just chef’s kiss. 💫

Their unplanned kiss sends them into emotional overdrive. They’re both clearly into each other, but their history of pretending to hate one another creates that classic tension we all secretly enjoy. It’s frustrating and funny in the best ways.

Lucas’s mom? A nightmare at first. She basically skipped the whole “raising her kid” part and suddenly wants to play boss? Hard pass. Luckily, she came around surprisingly quickly, and I appreciated her effort to make amends.

📝 Final Thoughts:

This one was a total hit for me. As a Hanadan superfan (Japanese version especially!), I welcomed the familiar vibes with open arms. That said, now I really want a true Vertical remake of Hana Yori Dango — give me a powerful F4 gang and a fierce female lead who doesn’t take their crap. Manifesting that next! 🙏💥
