Reveal the reviewI finally took the plunge and got a monthly subscription to MyDrama—I’ve been curious about their series for a while, and this one was first on my list!
Let’s start with the leads
Hannah – An orphan who made it into a top university on a scholarship. Unfortunately, her hard work isn’t enough to shield her from bullying, especially from the school’s wealthiest students.
Alex – The richest student on campus, known for his arrogance, entitlement, and cruelty. He rules the school and isn’t used to being challenged—until Hannah arrives.
At first glance, it seems Alex will crush Hannah like he does everyone else. But Hannah is different—she doesn’t fear him and dares to fight back. That defiance is exactly what draws Alex in and sets this love story in motion.
Now, meet the antagonists
Ashley – Alex’s girlfriend, a classic rich and pretty mean girl. From day one, she targets Hannah, and when she realizes she might lose Alex to her, she does everything in her power to sabotage their relationship.
Alex’s Dad – The ultimate villain in a suit. Controlling and calculating, he views Hannah as a threat to his family’s reputation and his company’s image. He’s not afraid to threaten Hannah’s academic future to get Alex back in line.
Despite all the pressure, sabotage, and emotional warfare, Hannah and Alex’s bond only grows stronger. When Alex finally decides to give up everything for her, it’s clear that this was never just a fling—he truly loves her.
Final Thoughts
This story gave me serious Hana Yori Dango vibes—a classic “rich boy, poor girl” tale, with plenty of drama, angst, and romance. It’s like a modern take on that timeless plot, minus the F4 entourage. I would love a full Vertical adaptation of Hanadan, and honestly, Bogdan would make a perfect Domyoji!
Marynka and Bogdan have great chemistry, and the story is addictive in all the right ways. I’m glad I finally gave MyDrama a try!
