Reveal the reviewI’ve been wanting to watch this one for a while, and after finally unlocking it, I can say—it was worth the wait… until the final episode. Let’s dive in!
💫 Meet the Leads:
Angela is a genuinely kind-hearted woman. A Harvard graduate, she gave up her dreams to care for her sick father, having already lost her mother. Desperate to save him, she agrees to an arranged marriage—based only on a fake reputation.
Xavier starts off as, frankly, a jerk. Yes, he has trauma from a past heartbreak, but that doesn’t excuse how he treated Angela. For him, the marriage is a strategic move to clean his name and secure the CEO role in his family’s business. He makes it tough for Angela from day one.
But what I loved most was the development between them. Xavier’s shift as he falls for Angela felt authentic and well-paced. And his jealousy over Dustin? Hilarious. He pretends not to care, but his reactions say otherwise.
🐍 Meet the Meanie:
Just when you think the drama couldn’t get worse—Claudia enters. She’s calm, calculating, and the real reason Xavier is emotionally closed off. She’s not your typical yelling villain; she manipulates in silence. And Ashley nails this role. After seeing her play the “good girl” lately, this was a delicious throwback to her villain era.
Of course, Claudia’s presence wreaks havoc. Just as Angela starts forgetting Xavier (amnesia trope alert!), Claudia sees her chance and pulls every sneaky move—including bringing in Jacques. His sudden appearance screamed “setup.”
👏 Shoutout to the Bestie:
Let’s talk about Dustin. MVP material. Loyal, caring, and honest—he had Angela’s back throughout everything. He was even ready to tell her the truth about the contract. And in the end, he’s the reason Jacques was exposed.
😤 The Ending:
The series was fantastic… until that final episode. It ended with an obvious setup for a part two—yet there’s zero sign that one is coming. It originally aired in July 2024, and still no follow-up? This is exactly why I rated the development just 3 stars. If you’re not doing a sequel, don’t tease us like that!
⭐ Final Thoughts:
Despite the frustrating ending, I really enjoyed this series. Haley was flawless, as always, and the chemistry with Grady was electric. And Ashley? The perfect villain. Fun fact—it’s the second time she’s played the evil woman opposite Haley, and at least this time no one got killed! 😂
I messaged Hayley a little while ago on IG and she wrote back saying they were filming part two! So I’m guessing it will be out sometime soon!
